Five Finger Death Punch
With
Cody Jinks
And
Eva Under Fire
At
The Acrisure Amphitheater
Grand Rapids, Michigan
Saturday August 15th The Acrisure Amphitheater was host to three bands Eva Under Fire, Cody Jinks and the headline Five Finger Death Punch. The weather held out and didn’t rain for the show. It was a perfect summer night in the mid 70’s to 80’s with a nice breeze. Most people would usually be at the beach or amusement parks.
I choose to have a sonic thrill ride with great music I crave. You can tell by my history of covering Five Finger Death Punch. While I was waiting to get in to cover the opener I thought back about all the times my family and I covered the band.
The last one was at the Soaring Eagle Casino which was an amazing outdoor show that was epic and unforgettable.

The coverage goes back to 2010 Mayhem Fest at Tinley Park, IL and I have been a fan ever since. My family and I only cover bands that we enjoy the experience of the music that gives us goose bumps. So I always make a point to cover the opener because they have the hardest job getting people stoked for the rest of the show.
Eva Under Fire the first band of the night did a great job connecting with the crowd and getting them stoked.
Eva Under Fire: The band is made up of Amanda “Eva Marie” Lyberg on vocals, Rob Lyberg on lead guitar, Chris Slapnik on rhythm guitar, Ed Gawlik on bass and Dave Miller 2nd on drums.
The band was formed in Detroit, Michigan and the band was created in 2015. When the band came to the stage they rock out with the song Awakening. This was a perfect flow that grabbed the crowd and kept them rocking out.
Pretty much all the top ten on spotify are my favorites they put on a great live show which is a true test of a band. If you sound great live you are a band I would love to see again. Eva has a growl that demands attention on stage.

Cody Jinks: He is a singer and songwriter from Haltom City, Texas. In 2016 the album titled I’m Not The Devil was in the #4 on the Billboard Country Music charts. His band is called The Tone-dear Hippies which are made up of Austin “Hot Rod” Tripp on pedal steel guitar, Chris Claridy on lead guitar, David Colvin on drums, Jake Lentner on rhythm guitar/lead guitar, Joshua Thompson on Bass and Matt Nolen on Piano. They came out on stage and delivered an excellent country sound that reminds me of old school country that I was raised on with a modern hook.
My favorite song by Cody Jinks and the band is Must Be The Whiskey which is very visual.

Five Finger Death Punch: The band is made up of Ivan Moody on lead vocals/ keyboards, Zoltan Bathory on guitar, Chris Kael on bass/ backing vocals, Andy James on guitar and Charlie “The Engine” Engen on drums. The band was formed in 2005 at Las Vegas, Nevada. The band is on tour in support of their new released album titled Legacy.
The song that is the album title flat rocks out. I love the guitar work along with the voice of the metal lion Ivan Moody. The total album is a delicious sonic treat for my ears. The show was a total metal experience and not just sounds.
